FIU Football Evens Their Record Heading Into UTEP

After their homecoming victory against Charlotte, The Panthers are back on track heading into their matchup against the University of Texas at El Paso.

The Panthers relied heavily on the run game against the 49ers and hope to continue that trend against the Miners.

Running backs Anthony Jones and Napoleon Maxwell led the way on the ground and that one-two combo in the backfield hope to carry that success into this weekend.

Quarterback James Morgan was a solid game manager against the 49ers and proved he can take a step back and allow the weapons around him to make plays.

The next four games for the Panthers will be crucial for the Panthers season. Four consecutive conference games in a row mean the Panthers will need to nearly flawless if they have hopes for the Conference USA championship

The Miners are currently 1-4 to start the season as their offense has been struggling, breaking the 20 point mark twice.

The Panthers have scored over 30 points in every game since week three against New Hampshire and have put over 40 points on the board the last two weeks.

The FIU offense has certainly hit their stride and is looking like the top-ranked C-USA offense from last year.

While Panthers have been rolling, they will need to capture that momentum and focus on getting a win if they want their season to be relevant. Currently sitting 1-2 in C-USA east, the next few weeks are must-wins against their conference rivals.

The Panthers will be back in action against the UTEP Miners on Saturday, Oct. 19th at 7 p.m. at Riccardo Silva Stadium.
