The blow to the head that safety Chuck Grace gave to Andrew Powers, the tight end for North Texas, during the home opener on Sept. 1  will cost Grace his starting spot Friday night against Louisville, whether coach Mario Cristobal likes it or not.
According to a Sun Belt spokesman, the senior will be suspended for a quarter. It has not been confirmed what quarter the Golden Panthers will be without Grace. Redshirt sophomore Terrance Taylor is listed as the back-up on the most recent depth chart for FIU and may be Grace’s substitute at safety during his suspension.
Although Grace will sit out a quarter, and it is not clear if Cristobal himself will divvy out some sort of suspension of his own.
