Put on your bibs, grab your silverware and napkins and come get acquainted with some serious business in Panther Square.

The Restaurant and Business Fair takes place on Wednesday, August 22 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in Panther Square in the Wolfe University Center. It is one of the events that are part of the Week of Welcome which takes place from Aug, 20-24. 10 local restaurants and five businesses will be featured in this event and will be promoting their food and services.

“The main goal of this event is to increase awareness and knowledge that is located outside of BBC and have samples from all types of restaurants, plus to give students, faculty, and staff a fun and interesting day,” said Andres Bermeo, marketing coordinator of Campus Life.

Restaurants will bring in food samples for students to enjoy ranging from Italian to Mexican foods while local businesses such as spas and pharmacies will offer discounts to their services. Some of the restaurants participating are T.G.I. Friday’s, Boston Market, Tijuana Flats and Yes Pasta!

GNC, Costco, Hollywood Tans and Wells Fargo will be the four businesses participating.

Between 300 and 400 people are expected to attend this event, which has been featured during the Week of Welcome for the past five years.

Bermeo encourages students to attend the event and get to know local businesses and their offers.

“Students should come for the food and to become more familiar with what BBC has to offer and to give them a reason to come to North Miami more often.”
