fashioncroppedThe Wolfe University Center ballrooms turned catwalk in the Eclipse Fashion Society club’s first fashion show that introduced student designers and models.

Models entered from the main doors instead of the stage. Women in bright yellow dresses and men in matching shirts, black sport pants and dark sunglasses introduced Jamal Morrison’s clothing line.

The hospitality and tourism management senior not only contributed his fashion to the event, but also planned and organized it.

“My line is sexy, sophisticated and very classy,” said Morrison who has been designing for four years.

Among the crowd Morrison’s father, John Morrison, videotaped the show as the models worked the runway.

“I don’t know where he got the talent from because it’s not from me,” Morrison Sr. said.  “I am here to support him and I am very proud of him. He had organized other shows before, but it is my first time [at Biscayne Bay Campus].”

Hospitality students and Eclipse Fashion Society club members also sat in the audience.

fashioneditPublic relations freshman Pilar Irarrazabal, the club’s vice president, said she met Morrison in their speech class and since then they have worked together.

“This club is new, but we have a lot of models. All of them are students,”  Irarrazabal said.

“I was very excited when Jamal inquired my assistance.  I knew that tonight is going to be flawless.”

The second act of the runway show proceeded with beach attire where a variety of colors and shapes represented the Miami Beach scene.  The third act presented the models in casual elegant outfits and the forth with long and short length night dresses with an open back.  The last act of the night the models walked in black-color designs — Morrison’s favorite color.

“The black colors are so easy to work with,” said Morrison. “They’re slimy. I love getting creative with it.”
