Jacuzzi Boys will be performing a selection of their favorite U.K. pop hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s at MOCA.
Awesome New Republic is an indie two-piece band comprised of Michael John Hancock and Brian Robertson. They have been active since 2003 and had their debut album titled “ANR So Far” released in 2005. “ANR So Far” received critical acclaim from several online magazines, such as “Pitchfork Media.”
Some tracks on “ANR So Far” include “Kill South Beach Dead,” “Fearsome Father,” and “Going Down.” “ANR So Far” was a combination of two albums titled “Witness Now the Birth of an Awesome New Republic” and “Courageous” that Hancock and Robertson previously worked on while studying at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Their unique sound is one characterized by soul and punk. ANR will perform hits from alternative rock bands from the U.K., including Blur, Pulp and Elastica.
