According to reports, forward Jerome Frink was granted a release and is expected to transfer from FIU.
The 6-foot-6 forward started in all of the Panthers 31 games last season, concluding in a 15-16 overall record. Frink finished the season averaging 8.4 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Head Coach Anthony Evans released a statement Wednesday morning. “We want to thank Jerome for all that he has done for the FIU men’s basketball program. He played a big part in the program’s success over the past few years and we wish him all the best,” said Evans.
The Panthers starting lineup will already be without its top two players, as leading scorer Tymell Murphy and top rebounder Rakeem Buckles will be graduating.
Murphy spent his two years at FIU with Frink by his side. “He’s a very hard working player,” said Murphy. “I wish him luck with his next move and I’m glad I got to play and learn from the younger guy.”
It is unsure where Frink will continue his collegiate career.
