In the next couple of weeks before summer term begins, the University library and certain businesses will be open with a reduced schedule.
Starting Monday, April 28 until Sunday, May 11, several restaurants at both campuses will be closed due to the two-week hiatus between spring and summer terms. However, some restaurants will be open during this period, but with reduced hours of operation.
Food options on campus will be limited to Bustelo, Chili’s Too, Pollo Tropical, Subway, Starbucks and Tropical Smoothie at the Modesto Maidique Campus. At the Biscayne Bay Campus, only Grille Works will be open.
According to the schedule posted by the Office of Business Services, all businesses will be open Monday through Friday, but will be closed on weekends.
Bustelo will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Chili’s Too from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Starbucks from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pollo Tropical, Subway and Tropical Smoothie will all be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Grille Works at BBC will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The University businesses will still be open during the next two weeks, but with slightly different hours.
The FIU One Card office will be open Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
Golden Touch will be open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Panther Tech will be open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Pronto Wash Eco Auto Spa will be open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Ricoh will be open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Santi Salon will be open Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.
The University Credit Union will be open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wells Fargo will be open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
According to the hours listed in the Barnes and Noble at FIU website, the bookstore will be open at MMC from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. At BBC, the bookstore will be open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Recharge-U will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays through Friday. It will be closed over the weekend.
Other businesses that will be open at BBC include: the University Credit Union from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Ricoh from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and the FIU Once Card office, which will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.
All these businesses will be closed on Sunday.
Also, library hours have changed until summer term. The library will be open from Monday, April 28 to Thursday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It will be closed from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 4.
The following week, the library will be open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and it will be closed again over the weekend.
Regular library hours will resume on May 12.
