Right-handed pitcher Chris Mourelle can now mark down another accomplishment, as he was named Wednesday to the 2014 Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American team.

The righty, who was previously named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year, was one of three rookies to receive the national recognition.

Mourelle led all freshmen and tied for third in wins among pitchers in the conference, with a 9-3 record and a 1.95 ERA. His ERA becoming eighth best in C-USA.

The rookie only walked 11 batters in just over 78 innings pitched and struck out 37 batters in his first year.

Mourelle was also named Second Team All C-USA and C-USA All-Freshman.
