Early morning on June 3 the University’s emergency alert system texted, called and emailed students faculty and staff about the possibility of an armed assailant on or near the Modesto Maidique Campus. The recipients of the warnings were given the “all clear” shortly thereafter. The University alert system also sent out a warning on the University’s Twitter and Facebook. Students were quick to respond, the following tweets were all found using the hashtag #FIU
