Curren$y Touches Down this Friday at Grand Central

Shante Scott Franklin, AKA Curren$y, AKA Spitta Andretti, is a busy man.  If he’s not dropping a free mixtape with the type of production quality most rappers save for their albums, he’s probably in your city supporting one of his albums with the type of production quality most rappers will never achieve. This Friday, he’ll be doing just, performing live at Miami’s very own Grand Central to support his latest album Pilot Talk III.

Shrugging off help from corporate labels, the 34-year-old New Orleans native and former Young Money affiliate has opted for a self-made, “grass”-roots, grinding approach to the music industry. Forming his own label, Jet Life Recordings, Curren$y has  released no less than 18 mixtapes since 2010 – when the first in the Pilot Talk series dropped. Needless to say, the man works hard for everything he has, and his live shows are no different. The rapper is known for interacting with the crowd, creating a sense of camaraderie and accessibility that hip-hop heads worldwide have come to associate with him.

Clouds will form and Jets will fly this Friday, June 5 at 9:00 PM at Grand Central.

Dope Ent. presents Curren$y @ Grand Central, Friday June 5th 2015, 9pm. More info at dopeent.com. Tickets available here.
