One thing was clear through Friday night’s haze – Curren$y is enjoying himself.
“The first time I was down here in Miami at Club Eve, y’all didn’t see me with any of these Rolexes! Y’all helped me get here!”
The laid-back demeanor and smoked-out inflection he uses on his records gave way to a version of himself he saves for those “Jet-Life” enough to come out to the show – and Grand Central was packed wall to wall. Ever the clever lyricist, his flow took on a new life as he bounced and traversed the stage with chest-puffing bravado and a “try me”-type energy that fed into the crowd and had the whole room rocking.
It was a great performance that needed no hype-man save the crowd, most of which knew every word to every song. An appearance from local boy, Gunplay, certainly didn’t hurt the energy though. Check out FIUSM’s gallery of pictures below. All photos by Krono Lescano.
