The Wolfsonian Hosts Partnership with The Bookstore in the Grove

As a way to commemorate to the art and history of the Coconut Grove community, The Wolfsonian-FIU proudly announces its partnership with The Bookstore in the Grove where it will host a public gathering every month.

The event will revolve around talks on illustrated publications of The Wolfsonian-FIU and include essays relevant to local authors and curators of the Wolfsonian. Every month, topics will rotate with the books being discussed.

There will be a kickoff event this June, the 27th. which will display a book titled, “Myth and Machine: Art and Aviation in the First World War.” It focuses on responses to WWI in the museum’s most recent exhibition. There will also be a discussion of a compilation of essays and historic artworks on Rome during Italy’s interwar national  consciousness found in “The Birth of Rome: Five Visions for the Eternal City,” followed by an Italian dinner served as a tribute to the Roman theme with live music performances before and after the talk.

Admission for all the talks will be free. During the events, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be available. Attendees will be handed 15%-off coupons for use of The Bookstore in the Grove, as well as a chance to win signed books which will be showcased.

Doors for “The Wolfsonian in the Grove” will open on June 27th, 2015 from 6 to 10 PM. The talk will proceed at 6:30 PM.
