The FIU Wellness and Recreation Center is putting together a special event this month, on the lawns of the Graham Center. Wednesday July 13 will see the debut of the first ever Ultimate Panther Challenge, where teams of up to five players compete and run five obstacle courses.
“I wanted to think of some ways that we could get students to be attracted to the Rec Center and learn more about our programs,” said Ratasha Iribarren, graduate assistant in charge of public relations and marketing for the Rec Center. “I noticed that the obstacle course, the Spartan races, the mud runs are all very popular right now.”
From noon to 2 p.m., the event will have many activities including a tire flip, speed drills, and a rock climbing wall. Their sponsor, Muscle Milk, will be providing their branded drink, and will also be giving out prizes that are yet to be announced.
The Ultimate Panther Challenge is accepting submissions for anyone who would like to participate in the obstacle course runs.
If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you may register with the Rec Center here on their website. For more information, contact Iribarren at: riribarr@fiu.edu
