For the sixth consecutive year, FIU Homecoming will host Panthermonium, a concert dubbed the “biggest show known to Florida International University” by Student Affairs.

The executive board plays a big part in the decision-making process in regards to the concert – they design the look for marketing, manage release dates and external outreach, and select the artists that go onstage.

With previous lineups including J. Cole, Zedd and Rae Sremmurd, there’s a system for how the artists are picked.

“The artist selection process is a closed-session meeting where the analytics from our programming surveys detail what students look for in an artist. This year, we discovered students look for name recognition when attending festivals and other large scale concert event types. These numbers are then charted and we began the selection process with several briefings in order to develop the most diverse show possible,” said Jordan Thompson, overall director for FIU Homecoming.

Expected to take place on Oct. 16, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., the concert will be hosted in the Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium.

“With Panthermonium being the only Stadium show we offer at FIU, the limit doesn’t exist. Our bleacher seats alone can hold more than 5,000 students comfortably with our floor being reserved for those who purchase at ticket at hc.fiu.edu or go.fiu.edu/2chainz,” said Thompson.

Featuring 2Chainz, Lil Dicky and MAKJ, the show is not exclusive to FIU students. Floor and community tickets start at $40 and are available at hc.fiu.edu or go.fiu.edu/2chainz.
