Women’s soccer team must gain more wins before end of season

Samir Bader // Staff Writer

The soccer team rescheduled its match against Old Dominion to Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. after the arrival of Hurricane Matthew forced the game to be postponed.

The team has been struggling to gain wins.  They currently sit with a 2-8-2 record with a load of conference games coming ahead, and  the Panthers didn’t come out on top in eight games they’ve played.

There are five remaining games left in the season, all equally as important and effective toward the C-USA Championships in November.  The Panthers will have to make a mark to end the season, having all their games against teams within the conference.  They will continue their play against rival Marshall on Oct. 14 at home after their break.

The Panthers also have dates WKU (Oct. 16), at UTSA (Oct. 23), North Texas (Oct. 27), and the rescheduled matchup against Old Dominion on Oct. 30 to conclude the regular season.  The Conference USA Championships will be held Nov. 2- Nov. 6 in Irving, Texas.

There’s still much soccer to be played, and the story for this year’s Panthers is controlled by them and how they want their season to be remembered as they conclude the final chapter of the season.
