The Panthers clinched a 76-57 season-home-opener win against Florida Memorial University Nov. 11 with the help of their shooting guard Donte McGill.

McGill put up the first points of the night for the Panthers with a wide open jumper, followed by a steal on the other side of the court.

McGill ended the night with a game-high 25 points, one steal and one assist.

“Donte is our leading scorer,” said Coach Anthony Evans. “He does a lot for us and we put him in positions to put the ball in the basket.”

McGill, who was 11-of-21 from the field with one turnover, said that he could’ve done more things to help the team.

“I feel like we just got to get better as a team ,” McGill said. “We got practice tomorrow, so we just got to get better and fix everything we did wrong.”

The Panthers will have their first away game on Monday, Nov. 14 as they travel to Deland, Florida, to take on the Stetson University Hatters.
