Spookiest Night Of The Year at BBC: LXV Lounge’s Halloween Town

Students at Biscayne Bay Campus can easily feel left out of all the fun during Homecoming week, so the Homecoming council at BBC decided to bring the party to them.

“I heard about LXV Lounge last week, and I am pretty excited to see what it is going to be all about,” said Jaylin Hawkins, FIU senior and broadcast media major. “Homecoming at BBC can be kind of quiet.”

Each year, the LXV Lounge has a different theme.

“I appreciate the fact that BBC is trying to make its students feel more included in homecoming week, since we are an hour away from the main campus, a lot of us don’t really have time to make it to other events,” said Gabriella Mocombe, FIU senior and psychology major.

This year’s LXV Lounge theme is Halloween Town, which will fittingly take place on Halloween.

“The dress code is formal attire, so no costumes,” said Ashley Nevarez,  LXV Lounge event coordinator and FIU junior and public relations major.  “There will be a best-dressed competition, with a really cool giveaway.”  

When asked what students can expect during this event, Nevarez hypes the event up even more.

“They can expect to have a good time, the entire homecoming team worked really on hard to make it the best. There’s going to be great food and great Music it’s definitely worth going to. Since the event falls on Halloween day you can expect a lot of sweets. There will be a variety of pastries, finger food, and candy! We will be giving away t-shirts, roses, and a glass cup,” she said.

Biscayne Bay Campus’s very own LXV Lounge: A Haunted Masquerade will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. in the BBC Wolfe University center.

BBC students should also look out for Cirque Du Nuit, Caribbean Bash as well as the Trail of the Torch, which will be held at BBC.
