Gingham, a cotton material that typically is dyed in a checkerboard pattern of white and another bold color, will be your best friend this spring.

Slowly it has become a closet staple that creates a lot of subtle flare in an outfit. Due to a resurgence of western prairie as featured in Vogue Magazine, soft plaid and other western inspired looks such as said gingham dresses and shirts as well as incorporated ru, are now a must have.

More flowy, silky shirts are also in style. By combining an elaborate shirt fabric with jeans one can transform any outfit into a more sophisticated or unique ensemble.

Typically, they hold intricate patterns with a variety of colors. Said patterns include stripes or more commonly, flowers, which creates a soft glow to any outfit while remaining trendy.

By the way, wearing long sleeves does not have to mean overheating in our Miami weather. The roomy form of gingham shirts today allow for easy ventilation and comfortable wear. The same goes for silk and mesh like fabrics that are extremely breezy.

Besides being comfortable these tops are just interesting and versatile. Gingham shirts usually come with a with a wide springy neckline so that it can be a shoulderless top or not.

Button down shirts in interesting fabrics, shorter around the waist of the pant and with vintage print are a great option. Light denim works well as a bottom. Opening those button down shirts with a white undershirt works well too.

Bleach washed jeans should also be an addition to anyone’s closet. They provide a new edge to a look and can be paired with any kind of shirt while creating a more complete image. It makes an outfit less ordinary.

And lastly, of course we need to talk about shoes. A good pair of Birkenstock shoes would be great to walk in this spring due to its slip on ease and feet adjusting system.

All and all this spring just make something innovative out of your wardrobe with a few new essentials.
