As college students, we know the struggle of what it’s like to stay healthy, with all the junk food, late nights and constant coffee runs. That’s why we’ve decided to make this week’s theme focus on health awareness.
Your health affects everything: mind, body and soul, so we’ve made sure to touch all three areas throughout our pages.

The path to a healthier life starts with what you eat, so visit page 2 to find out about the healthier options food vendor Chartswell plans on providing students in 8th Street Campus Kitchen, the new dining hall that has replaced The Fresh Food Company in the Graham Center.
Our Entertainment Director also sat down with representatives of the University’s Counseling & Psychological Services to discuss sexual assault and what time of the year it tends to happen the most at FIU. Visit page 8 to learn more.
And if you’re interested in learning about how music can be used as a form of therapy, make sure you visit page 9.
Besides health, you’ll also find on page 2 a sketch of the suspect police believe attacked two Mast@FIU high school students at the Biscayne Bay campus on Monday, Sept. 10. Police are asking anyone with information to contact FIU’s Police Department or Crimestoppers.
The Student Government Association should also be on your radar as the president of the Student Government Council at the Modesto Maidique campus has allegedly committed multiple ethical violations, along with an SGC-MMC senator, according to the Internal Affairs Committee. You can learn more about the alleged violations on page 3.
