Happy New Year Panthers!

2019 has finally arrived and with it comes new classes, new experiences and new challenges. If you’re new to the University, thank you for making PantherNOW part of your FIU journey.

We’ll make sure to keep you up-to-date every step of the way.

And for our returning Panthers, you’ll notice that we look slightly different. That’s because we’ve transformed our format.

Now, everytime you pick up PantherNOW, you’ll be getting a 2-in-1 deal.

You’re currently holding a newspaper but look inside and you’ll find a pull-out themed magazine. This way we can give you diverse content ranging from student government, research, and sports while also providing more specialized content.

For example, our front page top story focuses on the struggles facing the partnership between Royal Caribbean and FIU, even five years after it was created. Also on the front page is the news of the retirement of Larry Lunsford, the vice president of Student Affairs, after 29 years of service.

We also have a recap on page 12 of FIU’s win against Toledo in the Bahamas Bowl.

Since it’s the new year, our first pull-out magazine of the semester focuses on the theme “New Year, New Me.” In the magazine you’ll find info on new classes being offered at the Modesto Maidique’s Wellness and Recreation Center, along with opinion pieces regarding resolutions.

And, for those who missed the Bahamas Bowl game, click here for our video recap.
