Memorial services for Emmanuel Lubin, a former FIU football player who passed away in a car accident last month, were held in the GC ballrooms on Friday, Aug, 2.
Lubin passed away after crashing into a guardrail on the turnpike near NW 74th St.
The ballrooms were crowded with family, friends, teammates, and coaches all gathered to celebrate Lubin’s life. The crowd filled the ballrooms and spilled into the hallway.
This tragedy has shaken the FIU community and the football team in particular.
“Our football program is mourning his loss and we will honor Emmanuel every day moving forward. Our hearts and prayers go out to his friends and family,” said Coach Butch Davis in a statement.
