Via twitter, the University just confirmed that classes are cancelled for Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31.

The tweet says: “We regret to inform you that classes are canceled Friday and Saturday at all FIU locations and online in preparation for #HurricaneDorian.”

Attached to this message, FIU said that most university operations will continue as usual “until further notice.”

They ask that students take this time to properly prepare for the storm and to keep updated with local media and updates from the National Hurricane Center.

As of now, classes will return on Tuesday.
