The FIU Panthers are heading to their third straight bowl game.

The Panthers will be heading to Montgomery, Alabama to take on the Arkansas State Red Wolves in the Camellia Bowl.

The Camellia Bowl has been played since 2014 and typically features teams from the Sun Belt Conference and the Mid-American Conference.

This will be the second time a Conference USA team will appear in the Camellia Bowl since Middle Tennessee won in 2017.

For the Panthers, they hope to make it two straight bowl wins and second in three years.

The 6-6 Panthers didn’t have the season they anticipated coming off their record-setting 2018 season. Injuries, missed opportunities, and a win of the University of Miami can perfectly sum up the season for FIU.

Nevertheless, a bowl win would be a huge accomplishment for head coach Butch Davis in his third year with the program.

Davis led the Panthers to the Gasparilla bowl in 2017 and the Bahamas Bowl last season and will now coach FIU in their third straight bowl appearance.

The Camellia Bowl will be held in Montgomery, Alabama on Dec. 21 and will be played in the 25,000 seat Crampton Bowl.
