FIU women’s basketball team suffered a blowout home defeat to Old Dominion Thursday night.

Jiselle Thomas, coming off a triple double performance against Middle Tennessee led the team in scoring with 12 points. Thomas also had 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

Alana Swift joined Thomas as the two double-digit scorers, with 10 points. Swift contributed 3 assists and 4 rebounds as well.

The Panthers shot a poor 29.1% from the field and 18.2% from three. FIU was also dominated by Old Dominion on the glass, only snagging 31 rebounds compared to the Monarchs 46.

The 66-39 defeat makes FIU 4-14 overall and 1-6 in conference play, which makes them last in C-USA. This is the Panthers 4th straight defeat.

FIU hopes to bounce back from their loss this Saturday at 2pm, when they host Charlotte.

PantherNOW reached out for comment from the team but the team chose to decline interviews, a consistent theme for this women’s team.
