The Salty Donut opened it’s pop-up location at FIU on Tuesday, Feb. 4 and will be stationed outside of DM at MMC every Tuesday.
They sold Traditional Glazed, Maple + Bacon, Homemade Hazelnut Chocolate, Brown Butter + Salt, Guava + Cheese, White Chocolate Tres Leches, Carrot Cake (Gluten-free) and Peanut Butter + Jelly (Vegan). Barbara Mosquera, the coordinator of academic support services for the School of Music, takes a photo of her purchase. She purchased the Tres Leches and Guava and Cheese donut. She said she’s happy with the new location. “They run out a lot if you don’t get there early in time because the demand is so large for them,” said Mosquera. “So it’s nice to have one on campus.”Nicholas Bolet (left), English major, stands in line before purchasing his Maple + Bacon and Brown Sugar + Salt donuts. He was only standing in line for a couple of minutes, but he says his friends were there for nearly one hour. He says he would like for the treats to be around 50 cents cheaper. “But considering you’re on campus where everything is a little bit more expensive because you’re on campus, it’s pretty nice,” said Bolet.Silvana Lozano (right) and Maria Gomez (left) both purchased the hazelnut donut. Gomez hadn’t had the ‘Salty’ donuts before, but she had seen them in photos. “I’m excited, I love donuts,” said Gomez. They waited in line for about 40 minutes.
