FIU Student Programming Council to Host Fun Weekly Virtual Events Through April

Anna Radinsky/Entertainment Director

Remote learning and self-quarantine no longer has to be so boring and lifeless for at least once a week.

The Student Programming Council is hosting virtual events every week until the end of the Spring semester.

The first event is a Super Smash Bros tournament on Thursday, Mar. 26 at 4 p.m.

Players must register with the link https://forms.gle/fyfndr9CkuyX8vUJ9 and need to already have the video game.

On Wednesday, Apr. 1 at 12 p.m., Chloe Hilliard, a comedian and author of “F*ck Your Diet: And Other Things My Thighs Tell Me,” will be discussing her book, body positivity and staying healthy.

On Monday, Apr. 6 at 3 p.m., SPC is hosting College Trivia, a mega version of Kahoot on Zoom. Topics for the trivia will range from history to entertainment.

On Tuesday, Apr. 14 at 1 p.m., Chris Turner, a British comedian and freestyle rapper, will be talking about his life and what inspired him to pursue comedy and freestyling, while also teaching students how to freestyle.

On Wednesday, Apr. 22 at 6 p.m., attendees can participate in a Fortnite tournament, as long as they already have the game.

Links to register for the events will be emailed by SPC.

SPC has also opened applications for Team Officers, who is in charge of event planning for FIU.

Applications close Friday, Mar. 26 and are available at https://fiu.campuslabs.com/engage/submitter/form/step/1?Guid=dc7cab91-9f72-45c3-96fe-7b05438d66fb.
