As FIU students are situated in their homes, many are currently looking for things to watch on various streaming services. Comfort movies are films that bring immediate joy to people, which is especially helpful during these trying times. They can range in genre from fantasy to romantic comedies to even horror movies, depending on the preferences of the viewer. Here are 10 great comfort movies to watch in the age of social distancing on a variety of streaming services.

10. The Wizard of Oz (1939)

This film follows the timeless tale of a young girl named Dorothy, played by Judy Garland, who travels along a yellow brick road with her friends the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion. Laden with heartwarming performances, “The Wizard of Oz” is a classic fantasy film and continues to reach the hearts of viewers everywhere.
