Students Must Return Library Items To Graduate–Here’s How

Teresa Schuster / Staff Writer

Graduating students must return their library items and clear their library accounts before FIU releases their diplomas. Students enrolled in Fall 2020 may retain possession of library items until instructed otherwise.

Library staff will be at the Modesto Maidique Campus and the Biscayne Bay Campus on July 27, July 30, and August 3 and 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to accept the library items. Items include books, laptops, chargers, ipads, tablets, hotspots, and other technology items.

Drop-offs are drive-through only. Staff will be stationed in tents in front of MMC’s Ryder Business Building and outside the loading dock at BBC’s Hubert Library.

Anyone making a drop-off must wear a mask and should wear gloves.

Students who received devices via courier can return them using the shipping label that was included.

To return rental textbooks from the FIU bookstore, students can print a free UPS return label provided by the bookstore and drop them off at any UPS store.

For any questions, or if unable to drop off library items on the provided dates, contact Genevieve Diamond at diamondg@fiu.edu or 305-348-4741.
