10 FIU students and four professors self-reported contracting COVID-19 the week before fall 2020 classes started.

Seven of the students live or study on campus and one of the professors teaches face-to-face, according to the FIU dashboard launched yesterday night.

The dashboard divides COVID-19 cases into four categories; students living or learning on campus, students learning remotely, faculty/staff working on campus, or working remotely. Cases are self-reported cases using the Panthers app and the FIU COVID-19 response team.

FIU will update the dashboard’s COVID-19 case numbers weekly.

215 student cases were reported from Mar. 12 to Aug. 16., along with 113 faculty and staff cases, according to the FIU dashboard.
