FIU is one of the top 100 public universities in the country, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report.
FIU is ranked as no. 95 among public universities in the U.S. News & Reports 2021 National University rankings, the report was published on Sep.14.
The FIU Undergraduate International Business Program ranked second in the United States.
“This is an exciting time for FIU, as it truly reflects the hard work of our faculty and staff, and the determination of our students to excel,” said President Mark B. Rosenberg.
This 36th edition of the Best Colleges evaluates more than 1,400 colleges and universities on 17 indicators of academic integrity.
Different categories such as educational level, graduation rate, social mobility, and many other aspects are assessed in order to publish a list of the best 100 public universities.
The school was also named no. 13 among the best public institutions in social mobility, this refers to the socio-economic status of college students.
According to the U.S News and World Report Ranking, “the success of colleges in advancing social mobility by enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students awarded with Pell Grants”.
About 89% of full-time undergraduate students at FIU receive some type of aid according to FIU admissions.
In addition, the U.S. News and World Report Ranking reduced emphasis on college entry exams such as the SAT/ACT.
