FIU had seven new COVID-19 cases last week.

Three students and four faculty or staff members self-reported having the virus to the university the week of Oct.4, according to the FIU COVID-19 dashboard.

Cases reflected on the university’s dashboard are self-reported by students and faculty through the Student Affairs and Human Resources divisions or the FIU COVID-19 Response Team.

The dashboard divides newly reported cases into students living or learning on-campus and remotely and professors or staff teaching face-to-face or online classes.

All three students who self-reported having the virus last week live or learn on campus.

Two of the four faculty or staff who self-reported contracting the virus last week work on campus, the additional two work remotely.

Since the start of the fall semester, seven weeks ago, a total of 98 cases have been self-reported to the university.

Of the 69 student cases, 42 live or study on campus. 10 of the 29 faculty or staff who’ve self-reported having the virus teach or work on campus.

The dashboard is updated every Monday by the FIU Covid-19 Response Team.
