With the month of October comes a time to celebrate the holiday season and also Latinx culture, including Mexico, Spain, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This month, the FIU community continues to commemorate National Hispanic Heritage Month through events available to students and faculty.

Earlier this week, President Mark B. Rosenberg sent out an email sharing events and recognizing the Hispanic community’s achievements and contributions.

“Our FIU graduates more Hispanics with bachelor’s and master’s degrees than any other university in the continental U.S.,” said Rosenberg in the email. “And we are ranked Number 13 by the U.S. News and World Report for social mobility.”

Rosenberg asks students to take this opportunity and learn about Hispanic heritage and celebrate the richness of FIU.
