An FIU student was found dead at University Towers at the Modesto Maidique Campus, according to an email sent to students on Jan. 29.
“The FIU family is saddened to learn of the death of one of our students,” FIU’s statement reads.
The student’s name has not been released. FIU Police do not suspect foul play.
“It appears to be natural causes,” said FIU Police Chief Alexander Casas in a message to PantherNOW. “Just a very sad situation for our Panther Nation.”
Resources available to students affected by the death are FIU’s Counseling and Psychological Services and the Dean of Students Office.
