FIU Fully Evacuated Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences On Unidentified “Natural Gas leakage”

No traces of gas leakage was found by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, according to FIUPD Chief Alexander Casas.

The unidentified gas leakage on AHC-3 building was “a false alarm” and the building is now reopened.

Original Story

A full evacuation at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences around 6:30 p.m. according to FIUPD.

FIUPD Chief Alexander Casas confirmed to PantherNOW that an unidentified gas leakage in the building caused the evacuation. “The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure,” said Casas.

FIUPD along with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue are on the site identifying the source of the leakage.
