A vaccination mobile bus will be distributing doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week at the Modesto Maidique campus starting this Tuesday.

“We have partnered with the office of state Rep. Daniel Perez and the Florida Department of Health to bring a vaccine bus to MMC this week,” read the email sent out today by FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg.

The vaccine bus will be stationed at the gravel parking lot near PG5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Tuesday through Thursday, April 20-22.

All FIU students, faculty, and staff that are at least 16-years-old, are able to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Those that are 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian according to state regulations.

The vaccine bus will offer the shot on a “first come first served basis,” according to Rosenberg’s email.

FIU ID must be shown before receiving the vaccine.

Students who wish to receive a COVID-19 vaccine can also pre-register with the state. In an effort to provide more vaccination opportunities to students, last week FIU announced its partnership with Jackson Health System in creating a COVID-19 vaccination initiative. In addition to this, several locations are being offered in order to receive the vaccine, locations are listed in this link.

The vaccine bus will return to administer second doses the week of May 11 according to the email.

“At FIU, we strive to help our Panther family stay safe and healthy. Please remember that vaccinated or not, we must all continue to wear face coverings and to observe COVID-19 mitigation guidelines,” read the email. “Together, we can ensure everyone’s well being as we bring more of the university community back to our campuses safely.”
