FIU alumni and financial expert K. Ferne is determined to celebrate his 15 years in finance by giving free
consultations at his company, Fernancial Corp. He aims to guide those starting their own businesses or
purchasing a home and teaching students how to manage their money.
Fernancial Corp specializes in mortgage lending, loans and commercial loans. The company’s mission is
to deliver the best service to everyone, regardless of income and background, while guiding them to
make the right financial decisions to achieve their life-goals.
With more than a decade of experience in the financial industry, Ferne has learned not everything is
about the money you make but about the passion and determination to follow your goals.
In pursuit of his passion to help others, he aims to give back to those in need of financial guidance,
especially during difficult times like the pandemic.
Ferne shares his enjoyment helping others in the community.
“I am all about mentoring people and those who want to start their own business or be self-employed.”
During his sophomore year in college, Ferne found his true calling to help other entrepreneurs develop
their businesses. Since then, he proceeded to gain more knowledge in finance by assisting prestigious
universities while obtaining his Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and in Business.
“ Sometimes people have the experience but not the education or vice versa, I wanted to have the best
of both worlds.”
Later, Ferne earned a master’s degree of Business Administration in Corporate Science at Florida
International University.
Working full time and attending school was not an easy task for the entrepreneur. However, his passion
for the financial field led him to take the “leap of faith” and work to follow his dream of becoming his
own boss and founding a company.
“We have to understand that in life nothing comes easy, nothing comes overnight,“ Ferne said.
With so much experience and knowledge in the financial field, Ferne chose to get out of his comfort
zone and create a business that would lead him to success.
Ferne founded Fernancial Corp in 2018 with the purpose of offering advice for new business owners and
providing business consulting services. His passion and his hard work in business led him to create and
succeed within the company.
“The most rewarding part of it [the company] is that I get to do business my own way, not the freedom.
If you are looking for freedom to get into business you might be looking for the wrong reasons.”
Social media plays a crucial role in the company’s success. With 141k followers, Ferne uses his Instagram
@mrfernaencialofficial to post advice for people starting in the business industry. In addition, he
provides inspirational quotes about success and life achievements to motivate his followers.
“If you were to go through everything [posts], there’s a lot of knowledge going on there. A lot of good
information that you would find relatable,” Ferne said. “It is a really good community that we have built
and I am glad that I can take the time to do that.”
Ferne believes “words do matter” when it comes to motivating others. He explains the results of
spreading positivity on social media.
“It is a really good movement, a good community that we have built on our Instagram account and I am
glad that I take the time to do that.”
