Pfizer Vaccine Available for FIU Community & Eligible Household Members

Yansall Rasquides/ Staff Writer

The Pfizer vaccine is now available for students, faculty, staff, retirees, and their eligible household members.

Children ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Everyone, including children, must bring a photo ID or birth certificate to show proof of age. Vaccine appointments are now available and will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Those registering for an appointment must do so as soon as possible and use their FIU credentials according to a university wide email sent out by President Mark B. Rosenberg.

“Together, we can ensure everyone’s well being as we bring more of the university community back to our campuses safely,” said Rosenberg.

First doses of the vaccine will be available on Tuesday, June 22, Wednesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 24.

Those receiving a first dose must return three weeks after for their second dose of the vaccine.

Second doses of the vaccine will be distributed on Tuesday, July 13, Wednesday, July 14 and Thursday, July 15.
