Welcome back! Returning to FIU has never felt more significant. This month’s events mark the return of some of our most emblematic traditions. From the Uncaging festival, passing through the Annual Trail of the Torch, to the Caribbean Bash, this year’s homecoming is meant to revitalize our panther spirit after a year of being remote.

Here are the most exciting events for students this month!

1.     The Crown Pageant 

Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. EDT

MMC – GC Ballrooms

Join us in our yearly tradition to crown our brand-new Homecoming Court! We will be selecting the new King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Duke, and Duchess. The work of the chosen court will be to encourage understanding, and yours will be to celebrate our panther pride! We promise you an evening full of fun, laughter, and fun.

2.     Panthermonium

Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.  EDT

MMC – SASC Parking Lot

One of the most important yearly events, Panthermonium, is FIU’s biggest annual concert. With more than 4,000 attendees, this year’s concert will feature rappers T-Pain and Swae Lee! Admission is free for students, and tickets for alumni, faculty, staff, and the public can be purchased by clicking here.

3.     Panther’s Got Talent 

Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. EDT

MMC – SASC Parking Lot

Do you have a unique talent the world needs to know about? Then Panther’s Got Talent is the perfect event for you. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome to participate and showcase their gifts! There will be music, dancing, and fierce competition for the Gold.

4.     Celebrate Homecoming Week 2021 @ FIU at I-75   

Oct. 18 to 23 at 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. EDT

Celebrate our return to campus during homecoming week! We will be giving out FREE shirts, beverages, and snacks. Don’t be late; supplies are limited!

5.     BSU Onyx Lunch 

Oct. 18 at 5 – 7 p.m. EDT

BBC – WUC Ballrooms

Join FIU’s Black Student Union for their annual ONYX Lunch at WUC Ballrooms in the   BBC campus. Don’t miss out on their delicious food!

6.     Family Reunion 

Oct. 18 at 7 – 10 p.m.  EDT

BBC – Panther Square

Hosted by the Homecoming Council and Campus Life. This family reunion will bring together past and current council members from both organizations. This event is a perfect opportunity to connect between past and current students. Come to panther square to enjoy some food and music!

7. Taste at the Bay 

Oct. 19 All Day

BBC- Various Locations

Enjoy everything our local restaurants have to offer at the Biscayne Bay Campus! Taste at the Bay is open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Just let vendors know you are participating in this FIU Homecoming event, and you will be set for a wonderful meal!

8.     2021 Student Engagement Fair 

Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  EDT

MMC-GC Ballrooms

Join the Center for Student Engagement’s annual Student Engagement fair, where many organizations and departments will provide information about their activities and ways to get involved. Come and see what fits you best!

9.     FIU Men’s Soccer vs. Coastal Carolina

Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.  EDT

MMC – FIU Soccer Stadium

Support our men’s soccer team as they receive Coastal Carolina’s soccer team, the Chanticleers. Bring your friends and chant together for the home team. Go Panthers!

10.  Caribbean Bash 

 Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. EDT

 BBC – WUC Ballrooms

Experience the Caribbean flavor and culture in one of FIU’s most special annual activities. Enjoy delicious traditional food and drinks. Dance to the tropical rhythms of the live music the featured DJs will play. The Caribbean Bash is open to anyone who feels like immersing themselves in a variety of local cultures.

11.  Uncaging 

Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. EDT

MMC – GC Lawns/GC Fountain/DM Pit/PC Steps

Homecoming week is not complete until the Uncaging event occurs. You are invited to this festival, full of great food, drinks, music, dances, and other recreational activities, including the crowning of our Faculty & Staff Royalty. Get ready to have an unforgettable night!

12.  Trail of the Torch 

 Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. EDT

 MMC – Beginning at the GC Lawns

The 17th annual Trail of the Torch will occur along with the Uncaging event. Hosted by FIU’s Student Ambassadors, this event is a way of greeting our alumni and community and keeping our traditions. In this trail, the torch will be carried until the Torch of Knowledge, Service & Opportunity is ignited, welcoming the new and old students into their alma mater.

13.  CRAFT  

Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. EDT

MMC – GC Ballrooms & Surrounding Areas

CRAFT is an annual international food and drinks tasting event. With this year’s theme being Havana Nights, prepare to be part of this homecoming tradition for students, faculty, staff, and guests 21 and older. You must present a valid driver’s license to attend.

14.  Homecoming Shabbat Dinner 

Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  EDT

Hosted by Hillel, this dinner is open to students of all faiths! Close Homecoming with this exciting and delicious experience. To register for night Shabbat dinner, click here.

15.  FIU Men’s Soccer vs. Old Dominion 

Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. EDT

MMC- FIU Soccer Stadium

Support our men’s soccer team as they receive Old Dominion’s soccer team, the Monarchs. Bring your friends and chant together for the home team. Go Panthers!

16.  CASE is hooked on Homecoming! 

Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. EDT

MMC – Tailgate Lot

Hosted by the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, our Homecoming Tailgate finally returns! Be sure to attend this fantastic celebration of our Panther Spirit. It will be a day full of fun, raffle prizes, giveaways, and courtesy food and drinks. In addition, there is something special reserved for the first 100 guests. You can’t miss this out!

17.  The Roar Report 

Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. EDT

It’s “Good Morning America” with a twist; the “Roar Report” is already here! This university talk show will cover many relevant events for students and community members to stay engaged with the latest updates and news.

18.  FIU Football vs. Western Kentucky 

Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. EDT

MMC – Riccardo Silva Stadium

Support our football team as they receive Western Kentucky’s team, the Hilltoppers. Students can attend the game for free with their Panther One Card. Bring your friends and chant together for the home team. Go Panthers!
