  1. Why Shouldn’t I Use a Google Resume Template? How to Write a Killer Resume Workshop for Business Majors from FIU’s College of Business

Monday, Jan. 31

FIU’s College of Business is holding a virtual workshop for students to update their resume building skills. The virtual event will take place on Monday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. Students and alumni can expect the resume building skills to help them feel better prepared to enter the workforce when they graduate or even as they’re finding jobs while still in school. Students can RSVP for the event through Handshake.

  1. Dreamland from FIU’s Healthy Living

Tuesday, Feb. 1 

On Tuesday, Feb. 1, students can join FIU’s Healthy Living at the Green Library to learn about how to improve their sleep. Healthy Living gives frequent workshops for students to improve their mental and physical health. If you’re in need of better sleep, join this workshop at 11 a.m. and get some tips.

  1. TTR: Intersecting -isms: A Discussion of Racism, Heterosexism, and Cisgenderism from FIU’s Global Learning Initiatives

Tuesday, Feb. 1

FIU’s Global Learning Initiative’s is having a roundtable discussion about racism, heterosexism, and cisgenderism on Tuesday, Feb. 1. The event is open to students, faculty and staff, and the general public. The roundtable will be moderated by Erica Friedman, Associate Director of FIU Pride Center. For more information on the roundtable discussion, be sure to check the FIU event calendar beforehand.

  1. Perfectionism from FIU’s Counseling and Psychological Services

Wednesday, Feb. 2

FIU’s Counseling and Psychological Services is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m. The virtual event will cover what perfectionism is and how it can affect and negatively impact students’ lives.

  1. Barbra on Film: A Discussion about Barbra Streisand presented by Dan Hudak from FIU’s Jewish Museum of Florida

Thursday, Feb. 3 

On Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m., FIU’s Jewish Museum of Florida is having a presentation on Barbra on Film: A Discussion about Barbra Streisand. The discussion will be led by Dan Hudak, the owner of Hudak on Hollywood. The virtual event will discuss the lifetime of films featuring Streisand.

  1. Miami Beach Youth Music Festival

Saturday, Feb. 5

The 6th Annual Miami Beach Youth Music Festival will be happening live in Miami Beach and virtually. The two stages will have a variety of acts from all different genres. There will also be an art test, food and drinks, and a percussion workshop for kids. The admission is free if you RSVP online.

  1. Miami Marathon

Sunday, Feb. 6 

Starting in Downtown Miami, the Miami Marathon is taking place this Sunday, Feb. 6. The marathon will run through Miami Beach, Coconut Grove, and more. All the participants of the Miami Marathon will be given goody bags and food post-marathon. If you’d rather watch the race, check out the various stops around Miami to see the runners race towards the finish line.

  1. Imagine Dragons at FTX Arena

Sunday, Feb. 6 

This Sunday, Feb. 6 will bring one of the first of many musical acts to Miami. Imagine Dragons, the American rock band, will be live at the FTX Arena. Their Mercury World Tour is making multiple stops across the country, so make sure to get tickets if you’re interested in seeing the group before their tour ends.
