FIU Returns to the 2022 Miami Beach Parade

After two years, FIU returns to the Miami Beach Pride Parade for its 10th anniversary following COVID-19 restrictions.

This event will take place on Sunday Apr. 10, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be held at The Wolfsonian-Florida International University, 1001 Washington Avenue Miami Beach, FL 33139.

This event has a mission for people from the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to participate and unite in the Pride parade Miami Beach.

FIU has had the largest turnout for these events annually. FIU’s turnout is to demonstrate the support and unity given to the LGBTQIA+ Panthers on campus.

Tickets for this event will be on sale beginning Monday Feb. 21 2022. Tickets for FIU students, staff and faculty will cost $20. Non-FIU affiliates can also attend for $25. The first 100 buyers will enjoy free access to bus transportation from both campuses.

Due to high temperature throughout the day, it is advised to dress comfortably, bring sunscreen, sunglasses and headgear. Water will be provided for all attendees.

In order to participate in the FIU march, attendees must pick up their 2022 FIU Pride shirt. It’s encouraged to choose the same color of shirt as your friends to march together, and without this shirt, you will not be able to participate in the event.

This opportunity allows anyone to participate and join forces with the LGBTQIA+ community. Continuing to demonstrate the diversity of FIU students and the community, the Pride parade is based on affection and responsibility. These marches are a celebration of life, of human dignity, of not being afraid of your sexuality or gender and ultimately the right that we all should have to love anyone without judging.
