From competitive tournaments to nostalgic games and consoles, FIU’s Game Expo had something for enthusiasts and newcomers to enjoy.
On Saturday April 15, Panther Esports hosted the FIU Game Expo from 11 AM to 9 PM at the Graham Center.
Along with multiplayer games such as Rocket League and Valorant, guests played classic games like Mario Kart and Guitar Hero on the Nintendo GameCube, a console discontinued in 2007.
While attendees played, a quartet of music students performed arrangements of well-known video game and anime songs.
After several panels with gaming industry professionals about streaming and gaming media, the night ended with the Smash Bros. tournament finals where competitors could win cash prizes.
Also available were various food stands and vendors who sold keychains, stickers, and even Pokemon cards.
