Whether you like closed off, quiet rooms or open spaces with ambient sounds, there’s a study spot for everyone at FIU.

Here are 5 top places to get your homework done at the Modesto Maidique campus.

Green Library Study Rooms

MMC’s Green Library has many rooms of various sizes available to book for study sessions. Rooms are chosen based on how many people you invite, and can be reserved for up to three hours.

This is a great option for students who need a quiet room to study with friends or take a test.

Student Academic Success Center Steps

The wide steps next to the SASC building are great for outdoor studying. The artificial grass and shaded area make it perfect for a relaxing picnic study session on sunny days.

Barnes & Noble

Being a bookstore, Barnes and Nobles is set as an ideal study space with quiet corners and ambient spaces.

Students can enjoy snacks and coffee from the cafe on the second floor between study sessions, and take a break to play foosball on the first floor.

Swinging Benches

The swinging benches around FIU, especially those near the lake behind the Green Library, are a great study spot on cooler Miami days.

Other benches can be found in the Chemistry and Physics building and the fountain between the Graham Center, Primera Casa, the Green Library, and Deuxieme Maison. These are typically a cozier spot than the more popular Green Lake benches.

Chili’s Outdoor Patio

With views of the lake and fountain and the restaurant’s energetic playlist, Chili’s outdoor patio is a great spot for students who don’t like to study in complete silence. Chili’s is also a good place to enjoy a meal with study partners in group study sessions.
