The FIU football team has seen a flurry of players enter the transfer portal following the news that coach Mike MacIntyre had been relieved of his duties.
Among the players leaving are a receiver who broke several school records in the 2024 season and a linebacker who led the team in total tackles.
Here are all the players who have publicly announced their departure from the FIU football program thus far:
QB Keyone Jenkins – Jenkins threw for 2,557 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2024 as the team’s starting quarterback. He was the first true Freshman to start at QB for the Panthers since Alex McGough in 2014.

RB Shomari Lawrence – Lawrence recorded 47 carries for 177 yards and one touchdown in the 2024 season, a decrease from his 2023 stats. He played at South Dakota before joining FIU.
WR Dean Patterson – Patterson recorded 685 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 50 receptions throughout the 2024 season.
WR Eric Rivers – Rivers recorded 1,172 yards and 12 touchdowns in a breakout 2024 campaign. He broke several school records, including the most receiving yards and touchdowns in a season and the most receiving yards in a single game.
WR Nazeviah Burris – Burris recorded 22 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown in his lone season with the Panthers. He was previously at Stetson.
IOL John Bock II – Bock spent 3 years with the Panthers, carving a role on the offensive line from day one. He started 23 total games.
IOL Naeer Jackson – Jackson started every game for the Panthers in the past two seasons, not allowing a sack.
LB Travion Barnes – Barnes was perhaps the most impactful defensive player throughout the Panthers’ 2024 season. He recorded 129 tackles, putting him second place in the single-season total tackle rankings for FIU football.
LB Reggie Peterson – Peterson played one game for the Panthers in 2024 before suddenly retiring. Later in the season, he made a number of public allegations against coach MacIntyre which may have played a role in his firing.
