FIU is in full swing with holiday and de-stress events before the fall semester wraps up.

To de-stress from finals week, here are some December events that will help get you in the festive mood!

Holiday Social: Join FIU’s National Student Speech Language Hearing Association for their Holiday Social on Saturday, Dec. 7 at noon.

The event takes place at Tropical Park, located at 7900 SW 40th St. Decorate cookies with friends and take a break from final studies while wearing your ugliest (and comfiest) Christmas sweaters.

End of the Semester Stress Buster: Also on Dec. 7 at 4 p.m., the Indian Students Association and Hindu Student Council are hosting an “End of the Semester Stress Buster” event before Finals Week.

The clubs will have a brief talk on mental health awareness in the GC Pit before celebrating the end of the semester with fun activities and more.

Paint Your Own Plant-Themed Holiday Card or Ornament: On Monday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m., join Garden Club, the Fine Arts Student Association and Art History Student Association to paint plants on handmade holiday cards or ornaments.

The event will take place in GC 316 and requires RSVP due to limited art supplies. All levels of art skills are welcome.

De-Stress with Dogs: Relax, recharge and spend time with therapy dogs from Heel 2 Heal on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. on the GC Lawns.

Designed to decrease stress during Finals Week, the event is hosted by the Women in Computer Science club and requires registration.

Ugly Sweater Holiday Party: In collaboration with the Student Social Work Association, the Phi Alpha Honors Society is hosting an ugly sweater Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.

Taking place at AHC5 – 5th Floor, the event will include free food with friends while wearing an ugly Christmas sweater of your choice. They will also collect toy donations for another event.
