Valery Restrepo has earned her spot on the Conference USA preseason team as the Panthers look to build on last year’s success.
Restrepo had an immediate impact with FIU, having 8 clean sheets (first in the conference), a 0.78 goals-against-average (second in the conference), and winning the 2024 Conference USA Tournament Championship, all in just her debut season.
For the upcoming season, the Panthers are predicted to finish second in the preseason poll just behind Liberty.
Restro and the rest of the team are looking forward to a new season under first-year head coach Mat Dunn and a squad filled with new faces.
FIU announced the signing of 14 players to their roster as they look to build on last year’s success when they won the Conference USA championship and made it all the way to the NCAA Tournament.
Of those 14 new faces there are three true freshmen, five Division I transfers, five transfers from NAIA programs, and one international addition. The Panthers are also returning 14 players from last year’s squad.
