The Wall Street Journal has ranked FIU the No.1 university in Florida for 2025. With the University of Florida ranking No. 2, the University of North Florida ranking No. 3, Florida State University Ranking No.4, and Florida Atlantic University ranking No.5.
Each year, the Wall Street Journal evaluates universities and colleges across the country, ranking these institutions by student outcomes, quality of education, graduation rates, and post-graduation earnings.
This latest recognition by the Wall Street Journal comes as FIU continues to earn national recognition. Previously, in 2024, the university was ranked No.4 by the Wall Street Journal, and America’s Best Colleges ranked FIU at No.31 for public institutions nationwide.
President Jeanette Nuñez said to FIU News, “We are providing an incredible education that transforms lives, fuels innovation, and strengthens Florida’s workforce and economy. To be recognized as the state’s top university for the second year in a row is a testament to our faculty, our staff, and our students.”
