Fresh off their first conference win of the season against Western Kentucky, the Panthers are looking for another conference victory when they host the Kennesaw State Owls at Pitbull Stadium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Following the win against WKU, Coach Willie Simmons expressed his focused mindset and the importance of preparation in the post-game press conference, “the 24 hour rule still applies, we celebrate the win today, we get ready to go to work next day.”

Against the Owls FIU will also play in style, as they make their sleek debut of the new Vice U Uniforms.

When it comes to the FIU Panthers’ offense, they plan to attack both on the ground and through the air, totaling 1,147 passing yards on 122 completions.

Redshirt junior wide receiver Alex Perry is looking to add to his receiving total as he currently sits with 280 yards on 19 receptions.

Senior Maguire Anderson is second on receiving yards with 141 and 11 receptions. However, it is not only the passing game that has helped to a 3-3 record, FIU’s rushing offense has been a big part of the gameplan and is still second in the conference.

Senior Runningback, Kejon Owens, is leading the ground attack as he is second in CUSA in rush yards with 658 and is leading the conference when it comes to rushing per attempts (6.7).

Not only are there notable players on the offensive side of the ball but also on the Panthers defense. FIU’s Defensive Back, Jessiah McGrew, is in a three-way leading tie for most interceptions in the conference.

Redshirt sophomore defensive back Mister Clark, is third when it comes to passes deflected.

The Panthers have six games left on the season, all against conference opponents, as they currently sit seventh in the CUSA standings and are looking to go on a late season run to secure a spot in the conference tournament and finish the year strong.
