FIU (7–7, CUSA 0–0) dropped both games in its series against Boston College (7–5, ACC 0–0), struggling both on the mound and at the plate.

The Panthers return to the diamond this weekend against FAU (6–6, AAC 0–0). Friday’s and Sunday’s games will be held in Boca Raton, while Saturday’s matchup will take place at FIU Baseball Stadium at 6 p.m.

Julian Mlodzinski started on the mound for FIU in Game 1. Over his three innings of work, Boston College built a 3–0 lead, handing Mlodzinski his first loss of the season.

It wasn’t a strong showing for the offense either, as the Panthers struggled to find a rhythm at the plate and finished with just two hits on the night. Boston College went on to defeat FIU 4–0.

Game 2 had a similar outcome to the previous night. Jarek Woodward got the start for FIU and opened the game with two scoreless innings. In the third, Boston College broke through with a two-run hit to take a 2–0 lead.

The Panthers found some success at the plate, with Vicente Feliciano scoring on a groundout by Preston Leon.

Boston College extended its lead to 6–1 in the sixth inning.

FIU responded when Aidan Cohall delivered a two-run single, cutting the deficit to 9–4 in the seventh, but the rally fell short as the Panthers dropped the game.

The Panthers now look ahead to this weekend’s series against FAU, an in-state foe. The matchup marks the 81st meeting between the programs.

While FIU trails in the all-time series, the Panthers will look to chip away at that deficit and continue building momentum.
