After a series of losses against CUSA power Jacksonville State, the FIU Panthers look ahead to their series against fellow CUSA rival Kennesaw State.
Kennesaw State has had a difficult season, with a 7-25 record that has them last in Conference USA standings.

Each of the three games FIU played in were competitive at the start, but the Panthers struggled to keep any sustained momentum in the later innings and the bottom fell out in two of them halfway through the set.
What really doomed the Panthers was their inability to keep batters off the bases.
Through each game, a continuous stream of singles parlayed into RBIs which built up small leads into insurmountable differences.
Even if pitchers kept an inning scoreless, their run support just couldn’t make the timing fit, leaving the bullpen with a workload that became too heavy to manage effectively.
Diversifying their scoring and production has to be at the forefront of the Panthers strategy, that ability to get everyone involved is what made their early season such a strong showing.
Following a strong start to the season, Panther Softball (23-12 Overall, 5-7 CUSA) has cooled down tremendously with only 1 win in their last 8 games.
The Kennesaw State Owls have struggled to put up production on any section of the field. They rank near the bottom of every major counting statistic through the duration of the 2026 season.
FIU will try to take advantage of that weakness to vault themselves back into serious post season consideration that the playoff are only a month away.
