Travelers will officially be flying in and out of “President Donald J. Trump International Airport” after Florida Republicans successfully renamed Palm Beach airport after Trump.

Donald Trump and merchants will now have an Airport code, code DJT, named after Trump’s initials. The president’s initials will also appear on passengers boarding passes.

The first plane to land at DJT, were the President’s sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., flying on President Trump’s private plane. Eric Trump spoke to Fox news after landing at the airport at 5:01 a.m. on Thursday morning. Trump said: “There’s no way in hell I was letting UPS be the first plane to land, so we got on Trump Force One,” he added “we touched down at exactly 5:01 a.m. this morning, and it was beautiful day,” Eric said during the interview, “I don’t think there’s anybody more synonymous with Palm Beach than Donald Trump.”

Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill earlier this year that redesigned Palm Airport to Trump alongside roads, and highways in the state. Republicans say the name change is symbolic to Trump’s involvement in the palm beach community. The Airport is only a few miles from Trump’s Golf Course Mar-a-Lago.

Earlier this year, in February Trump’s family business filed a trade application for potential airport names across the United States Patent and Trademark office. The Trademark would also allow Trump to sell theme merchandise, which include luggage.

Eric Trump also said to the host of Fox and Friends: “It’s just a special moment. He’s a man that deserves it. He’s the man that’s done so much for the country,” he added, “He’s fought like hell for all of us and , as a son who worked so hard to make this happen, I couldn’t be more proud. Today was a really, really special moment.”

Donald Trump is the first sitting President to have an airport named after him while in office, traditionally airports are named after the President’s tenure like John F. Kennedy International Airport, in New York, and Ronald Reagan International in Washington D.C.

The Airport said on Social Media that the name change will not disrupt normal operations. “We’re working behind the scenes to update our physical signage, terminal spaces, and digital channels to our new name: President Donald J. Trump International Airport,”

Donald Trump reacted on Truth Social posting: “A very big day in Palm Beach, Florida, where it was my Great Honor to have the Palm Beach International Airport be renamed, by a spectacular vote, The President Donald J. Trump International Airport. The Area is HOT, the Location is GREAT, and the Renovation will be SPECTACULAR. Thank you to all in Palm Beach for your Vote and your Confidence. This will soon be one of the Greatest and Most Spectacular Airports anywhere in the World! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
